My Pet Move

See. Spot. Move.

I have an English Bull and we are moving to Florida sometime in August. Does anyone know of a carrier that will transport her by air to Fort Myers? So far we have come up empty, as all airlines will not accommodate snub nosed dogs.

Thanks

Cathay Pacific take snub nosed dogs (I ahve two pugs) but don't know if they do this route. Also Aer Lingus, but only certain routes.
Hey, just checked, Cathay do fly from UK to US, you prob won't get a direct flight and may have to hire a car or get an internal flight in the US...
Here's a story on some dog friendly airlines. Hope they can help you out. http://tinyurl.com/lm7ysn
If you are moving domestically Joe (within the US) your best bet would be to have your dog driven by ground by a respectable ground transportation company. We have a list under "Resources" and then "Ground" in the top tabs.
thank you for the information, I will certainly look into that. Ground would be ok, I think, I'll have to check with our vet. Thnks again
driving with your dog means that you might want to look into insurance coverage that includes your pet: http://bit.ly/Ns5sM
Try PetAirways. http://www.petairways.com/

Their routes don't extend all over the U.S., but perhaps you can get your dog to one of their airports. They fly pets as passengers, buckled to their own airline seat. Cost is about the same airlines charge for cargo. DO NOT fly a Bulldog in the cargo hold unless the weather will be less than 70 degrees or less on all routes as the heat will kill them.

There is also a group www.pilotsnpaws.org. They work mainly with rescues, but if your need is urgent and you are willing to pay them, one of the pilots may fly them on their private plane for you.
