Hi! My name is Armando, I'm traveling with my wife and my Yorkshire Terrier (Named Mooi) from Mexico to the UK by the end of September. Mooi has started his quarantine period since he was blood sampled in late April. Starting from the date of the blood sample he will be able to travel to the UK by the end of October with Continental Cargo. I'm a little worried about the weather during that period of time. Can anybody have some tips or notice to consider about Mooi's travel to the UK during this period of time?
Thank you very much!!

Hi Armando,

Make sure you buy a bigger travel cage with 4 side "windows" and buy a big bowl for carrying water. Usually the area where airline keep our dogs in their cargo areas is weather control. So it should be ok for your Yorkie flying in Oct. Our Chunky (dog) is also flying in mid-Oct to UK from US with British Airline. So good luck and hope all goes well.

We should create a doggie meetup playgroup / support group for all "travel" pets and pet owners get together once a month in UK? I found relocation from one country to another is both hard for pets and also for pet owners too!!

Thank you very much Chunky for your advice! We have bought a kennel travel cage with dose characteristics. Mooi's travel date will be October 27th. I'm confident that everything will go as planned; we hire an specialist in Mexico to take care about all the necessary paper work and documents and we will hire one in the UK for his clearance once his arrival. He will travel via Houston to London by Continental Cargo. I heard that it’s one of the bests in taking care pets. We cannot use British since there’s no approved flight from Mexico to London that carries pets. I’m really confident that everything will go great! We are nervous but the company we hire has experience in sending and managing pets specially dogs… I’m confident that everything will go ok with our pets trips. We should meet once in the UK as you said. We will be in need to learn new custom related with living with our beloved friends there…

Hi Armando, Good luck to bring Mooi from Mexico. I am going back to Boston in 4 days to finalize all the necessary paper works for Chunky and travel back with her on Oct 10th. We should definitely get together when all happy 'tails' arrive UK safe and sound. ;-p We have to fly with British Airway, because that's the only authorized airline that can fly Shih Tzu and Pug (any breed with flat nose). Tried to contact Virgin Atlantic, they cannot fly these breed because of their breathing problems. Anyway, feel free to email me when Mooi has made his final move to UK, ook? ;-p Cheers.....
