"I think you must have spoken to someone that didn't have the correct information. I am certain that Continental ships pets on these flights. Try calling this number: 1-800-575-3335"

"Thank you Jillian! I have talked to Continental. They too have stopped taking pets on their non stop flights. So I am still holding on to Air India."

"Hi Jasmeet, If you are leaving out of Syracuse, it might be a lot closer to fly out of EWR (Newark, NJ) on Continental. They have a direct flight to New Delhi and they have one of the best pet programs out there. I think that would be your best…"

"Hi Charlie, This sounds like a scam to me. I would avoid sending them any money. If they ask you to send money via Western Union it is definitely a scam. Be very careful. Regards, Jillian"

Profile Information

If you already moved...Where did you move to?
Austin, TX
Have you moved your pet(s) before?
Yes
If you've moved your pet, describe your move (from where to where, the challenges you faced, new places you've found, how your pets fared, airlines you used, etc.)
I drove from Santa Cruz, CA to Austin, TX with my cat. He never liked the car much so I figured it would be challenging. I thought about giving him sedatives to make the drive easier on the both of us but, after a slight warning from my vet that sedatives are not very good for the heart and are to be used in extreme moderation if at all, it was not something I felt very comfortable doing. A friend of mine had moved her cats recently (via car) and had a really good experience using a spray that included lavender and cat pheromones to keep her pets calm and comfortable. I thought it was worth a shot so I bought some for my trip and it really worked! I just sprayed a little on the blanket in the car every so often and after a little whining he would quickly give up, lay down and take a nap. He never used to relax in cars but this definitely made the difference. I didn't even need to bother with the sedatives.
