In my experience, Canada needs a bit more of the pet friendly airlines we are used to here in the states. Air Canada used to have a great program, still may, but many still have to do a bit more with regards to the pet programs. Here in the states,…
Hello Corina! Great question and the answer is yes and no. There are many companies who claim to help with pet moves, imports of pets, etc and these days, with the internet - you really do not know who is who behind the website. We support a group…
Hey David, if you are planning on driving - I would get the biggest crate possible and a small litter box in the back...or, find a way to screen in your entire backseat and enjoy the ride! :-)
Hey David, seems like a fun Journey ahead! The good news, is that the paperwork should be easy as long as you have the patience to visit a Vet in Canada on your way to AK (every time you cross the border, you need new health docs to help when you…
Hey there!! Thanks , they are my babies!! Actually no. They are still in the states with my parents who spoil them rotten!!! They are my blanket when I need comfort and I've had some rought tiems without them. But we have adopted a cat here in Macedonia. Hi Rocco, It was a bit of a nightmare! but he got here safe and sound, I would be happy to answer any questions if it will help anyone who is moving.
Hey Rocco, that does sound like one crazy adventure! 2 cats and dogs, u guys are busy then?! I'm actually from Ireland and have lived in HK for almost 2 years now. I got my dogs thinking I'd stay here a few years longer but the pull of home is stong and strongly seems I will move home Summer 09. I've done a lot of research and am now trying to hire a pet travel agent.Boy is there a lot of red tape as Ireland is rabies free. Anyhow, what a great site this is,at least now I don't feel as if I'm the only person to embark on a crazy, stressful pet move! Happy Christmas. delidee :-)
Hi Rocco, well actually, I tried to move over here with my pet...unfortunately its a sad story.
My family and I were living in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and decided to move here to Dubai.
I researched a lot on how to bring our 7 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Sir Alex, and was advised by many to take Saudi Airlines.
Being a 2 hour flight I was not very worried, although I knew that it was a risky operation I did the impossible to make sure that eveything would go fine.
I was not expecting that the captain was not going to turn the oxygen on in his room...
Worst thing of all is that nobody cares in this part of the world for pets, so if you are planning to move with your pet, the only suggestion I can give you is to either go by Air France (We flew Venice-Rio with Alex!), they really care.
Hope this helps!
well I arranged all the transport/vets etc from UK to Portland and although stressfull went ok, however Air New Zealand will not allow me to do this so I hav to use an agent and all the quotes I have had so far are mega bucks!! SO still looking for a cheaper option, but the girls [meg and mol] are looking forward to playing in the sea!
